Dror Yikra is one of the oldest and most popular Sabbath songs, known and sung throughout the world and throughout generations. Traditionally, it is sung acapella at the table following
the Sabbath mid-day meal. There many melodies for this piyut.We have chosen to create an original arrangement of a popular melody that originates in the Jewish communities of Yemen. The lyrics were written by Dunash ben Labrat, the 10th-century poet who is considered the pioneer of measured meter in Hebrew poetry and a precursor of the golden age of Spain.
